Backpacking in the Chattahoochee National Forest
in the Cohutta Wilderness
near Cisco, GA
July 25, 2015

We went into the woods at Cisco just north of Chatsworth. The red mark is the top of the trail.   Trail down to the first camp site along the river.
I think I'm getting the hang of this GPS thing.
Several of these pictures were obviously taken by someone else. Thanks Greg, you are helping us keep great trip memories.

First wildlife we saw was this water snake. He just wanted a drink and he crawled away sometime after his picture was taken. Greg was the only one who got close enough to take a picture.

Trying to get the camera to capture some soft water.

Just a pretty picture.

Remember, we carried all that stuff down there on our backs. The next morning, we carried it all back up before we went hiking. I may not know what I need to pack but I know some things I don't need!

That water was really moving FAST!
Still trying for that
soft water look.

Finally captured some soft water. It is the same picture as above only the camera was tricked to capture the "soft" water.

We saw all kinds of cool fungus.

These butterflies just wanted the water and possibly salt on the ground here. There are actually 2 or 3 in this picture so close together they are hard to see.

A very pretty little flower but we don't know its name.

Beaver Swamp.

Greg was a lot braver than the rest of us.

More cool fungi.

Map of short hike after we hiked back out. We took the songbird trail.

Beaver swamp
from the other side.

A cute bug.
He was about 4" long.

Our fearless leaders
were great hosts!
I can't wait to go again!
