Canoeing the Flint River Thomaston, GA 5-17-2014

We rented canoes from the Flint River Outdoor Center and took the trip from Goat Mt to Hwy 36. Its usually about a 6 hour trip.

Around noon, we stopped for lunch on a convenient island.

Sprewell Bluffs was the perfect place to take a break, just before we paddled the first of the 4 sets of class II rapids. This is the actual 1/2 way point.

The Chocolate Lab on the back of this kayak was really enjoying her vacation. She had been riding on the kayak for a day and a half by the time we saw her. They started 10 miles further up river than we did.
