Hueco Tanks, this tour in particular, was the highlight of my vacation. I can't wait to go back and see more of the area. If I lived close by, I'd go here every weekend to unwind and just regroup.

This actually looks like a goggle eyed man with horns.
A horned dancer. | ||||||||||||||||
I think this is supposed to be a jaguar but I can't see it.
This was one of the most restfull and thought provoking places I've ever been. Absolutely refreshing!
To learn more about these pictographs, who created them, and how to digitally enhance them, look up Robert Mark and Evelyn Billo on the web. They helped create a comprehensive digital database of all of the pictographs and petroglyphs at Hueco Tanks. Two good websites to learn more are: http://texasnativeskies.org/sites/site.php?s=2 http://www.texasbeyondhistory.net/hueco/life.html |
